Ricoh, a Japanese manufacturer of office equipment and optical machinery, required a high-quality Chinese logotype for its communications and promotional activities in the Chinese market. The design focused on harmony with the English logotype, retaining elements of the RICOH typography to preserve the international brand's visual identity and consistency. The design process drew extensively from calligraphic manuals and character structure studies, with meticulous adjustments made to the arrangement and proportional weighting of strokes.
